Surface Marker launches a new line of Diver Safety Buoys and Lift Bags

In 2006, Surface Marker developed the popular Surface Marker WDS ™ Buoy, a compact safety sausage in a carry pouch with its own tangle-free Webbing Deployment System™. “The SurfaceMarker WDS ™ was designed for the recreational diver in mind. Now we have developed products for the more demanding diver,” said managing director Udo Hartig.

“The new range has been designed for more demanding conditions and deep decompression stops or dives where surface conditions are not always at their optimum. With these products recreational and technical divers have a choice of a Delayed Surface Marker Buoys (DSMB) to suit every type of
dive,” added Hartig.

The Surface Marker Tek Buoy is a self-sealing 175cm (69’’) tall buoy with a 5cm (2’’) band of Solas reflective tape on both sides of the buoy ensuring visibly in all types of light conditions. Other features include a transparent light stick holder and a handle at the top for attaching slates. The Tek buoy can be secured to a BCD with the compact carry pouch provided, which is also large enough to store a Finger Spool for deployment. The Tek Buoy is available in three colour combinations: Safety Orange, Neon Yellow and Orange / Yellow combo.

The 25 kg (55 lb) Lift Bag and the 65 kg (143 lb) Lift Bag are constructed from the same durable 210D nylon as the Tek Buoy, allowing for both strength and compact stowage. Both units areequipped with a self-sealing baffle, an over-pressure release and dump valve to control the ascent and vent the excess air. The 25 kg Lift Bag also comes with a compact carry pouch that allows room for aFinger Spool and can be attached to a BCD. Both products are available in Safety Orange and Neon Yellow.
