Ideal for the recreational diver
who does not want to carry an additional reel or spool – Surface Marker WDS makes it easy and safe to deploy a safety
sausage during a Safety Stop.
Surface Marker successfully
introduced the Surface Marker WDS to
Thailand
6 months ago and has now revealed it to an international audience at ADEX 2007.
The Surface Marker WDS consists of a high quality 210D Nylon, high visibility
red and yellow signal tube with durable RF welded seams. The innovative Webbing Deployment System (WDS) is what makes this product so
unique. With a 5.5m red and white webbing lanyard, divers can easily deploy
their Delayed Surface Marker Buoy from their Safety Stop.
Surface Marker’s founder Udo Hartig envisioned an easy to use deployment method
for the recreational diver a long time ago. Reels or finger spools are more
likely only used by more experienced divers and string carries a high risk of
entanglement, the search for an alternative began. The Webbing Deployment System was born, compact, safe and easy
to use for every diver.
Hartig also recognized the need
of an attractively priced high quality buoy for the recreational dive market,
yet still affordable when compared to inferior PVC buoys, but stronger and more
durable and ultimately safer for the diver.
Surface Marker is proud of the
fact that the finest materials have been used to create a durable and reliable
product that will aid safe surfacing for every diver for years to come.
Surface Marker believes that
every diver should be using a Delayed Surface Marker Buoy on surfacing and
whilst on the surface. According to Surface Markers Business Development
Manager, Andrea Schramm, "after being in the dive industry for more than
15 years the safety sausage is still one of the most overlooked pieces of
diving equipment. Fear of using it underwater and the reluctance of some dive
operators to inform their customers of its importance because they insist their
divers must swim back to the boat and mooring line, it is still not a standard
piece of equipment.”
The Surface Marker WDS closes the gap between the technical diver who
is well trained in the use of a reel or spool and the recreational diver who is
in need of a safe and easy to deploy Delayed Surface Marker Buoy which will
encourage him/her to use it on every dive.
The Surface Marker is available
worldwide through our dealers or our website shop.
Future plans include the release of a range of Tek Buoys as well as Lift Bags.
Prototypes were exhibited at ADEX 2007 and will be ready for distribution late
summer 2007.
