Testimonials

"Great product, the No Snag Webbing Deployment System is just amazing and long overdue! It really simplifies the task of sending up an SMB for your Safety Stop”.
“As a PADI 5 * CDC we are making this product available to all of our IDC Candidates during their Course.

Showing them the ease of deployment DVD  makes this such an easy sell especially now, with the New Standards Compliance regulations that we all as PADI Pro’s must to adhere to on the use of SMB’s." Clive Martin

"A Surface Marker is in my BCD pocket on every dive, no exception!
One of the cool things about the Surface Marker is the tangle-free Line (aka webbing) and the stainless steel ring to loop around your thumb for control from under water.

It didn't matter how you launch it, the line unfurl automatically and the ring made it very easy to keep a hold of the marker. It worked even better in running current conditions for instructors & divemasters who need to deploy it quickly to let a couple of their inexperienced divers keep a hold of the line, so the group can stay together at the safety stop.

another cool part of it is during the ascent, the flat lanyard line is so easy to "fold" and organize, hence by the time you get to the surface, the line is already "rolled and wrapped" tightly under the balloon; no more messy strings or ropes to tangle with.

I used the Surface Marker regularly as a training tool for our DMTs and instructor candidates. Along with drift dives training, It can also be used as a simple lift bag for Search & Recovery training dives, allowing the candidates to practice lifting technique of objects 4-7 kg in weight.

On an average, I broke about 4 safety markers per year, especially during the peak diving months. So far, my first Surface Marker survived about 200 dives without any hitch. Well, except for the sea water wear and tear that erased the writing on the tube due to the abuse I give to it every week :-)"

....easily the slickest SMB system for the recreational diver that we carry.  We first saw the system in Thailand being used by the dive crew of SeaFun Divers and immedialty brought it to the US and added it in-store and on-line as no other manufacturer makes anything like it.

The WDS eliminates the need for a spool and the attached compact storage bag makes it a easy to carry and keep track of.  The marker is the perfect size and deploys without a catch.   We always recommend using a marker or lift bag for any free ascent and this is everything you need in one compact package to dive safely.  Overall, this is by far the best marker system we have ever found.  Especially for the money, which is a true bargain with most markers selling for more. Description

The Surface Marker Tek Buoy is a Delayed Surface Marker Buoy (DSMB) that should be inflated at depth prior to ascent via the opening at the bottom of the unit. The self sealing internal baffle will ensure that the unit stays fully inflated during its ascent and on the surface. The excess air is vented via the Over Pressure Release Valve.

Surface Marker Tek is available in three colour combination:

Safety Orange- Both sides of the buoy are orange. This is normally used by tech divers in most parts of the world during their ascent and decompression stop to signal the All OK.

Neon Yellow - Both sides of the buoy are yellow. This is normally used by technical divers in most parts of the world during ascent to signal that the diver or a member of the team has encountered a problem and may require immediate assistance by the support team. A dive slate can be attached to the top handle communicating the nature of the problem.

Orange / Yellow Combo - With both an orange and a yellow panel this is by far the most visible combo for the recreational diver. The orange panel is more visible in bright sunlight and significant glare. While the yellow panel will prove its worth as light deteriorates and the rain clouds move in. The contrast provided by the two alternating panels with the added effect of the Solas tape will ensure that you stand out.

Important Note: The colour signal codes are not standard and may vary regionally and by vessel. The Orange / Yellow Combo is the best choice for recreational divers. It is highly unlikely that recreational and tech divers will be diving the same sight and that a Orange / Yellow Combo buoy be confused for a distress signal as buoys do not remain static while attached to a line and both sides will be visible in a very short period of time.
